Monkey bread...

Pigerne sidder i sofaen og høvler serier, de spiser frugt og sipper kaffe og nyder lørdagens mulighed for dovneri og langsommelighed.
Laura har lyst til Monkeybread, ingredienserne er i hus og egentlig er det ganske længe siden, at jeg har æltet en gærdej, så jeg gider godt.

Jeg lavede engang en opskrift til Urtekram, men jeg tror ikke, at den ligger på deres side mere, men dokumentet er stadig på min computer og den er bestemt en revival værd, så nu kommer den til at ligge her sammen med alle de andre bage- og kageopskrifter.

Monkeybread er en amerikansk opfindelse, sådan en slags mini kanelboller i lag, snasket ind i smør og sukkerstand, lige noget for mig, når jeg nu for en ret sjælden gangs skyld skal sukkerlamme mig selv – og også en yndlings hos Amanda, der nærmest er lyserød og svævende bare nogen nævner ordene kage og kanel i en og samme sætning.

Til en sofafuld lækkersultne weekendnydere skal du bruge

Dej:
4 dl lun øko-minimælk
3 tsk sukker
1 nip salt
1 stort æg
50 g gær
12-15 knuste kardemommekapsler eller 2 tsk stødt kardemomme
Ca 600 g hvedemel

Til tril og drys:
50 g smeltet smør
200 g mørk muscovado eller rørsukker
2 spsk god kanel, gerne den milde og ægte fra Urtekram eller Mill & Mortar.

Dejen fremstilles som en helt almindelig gær-dej, ingen hokuspokus der. Lad dejen hæve til dobbelt størrelse, ælt den godt igennem igen og skær ca 50 små stykker dej ud, der så trilles til mini-boller.

Bollerne dyppes i smeltet smør og trilles derefter i kanelsukkeret.
De lægges i gode tætte lag i en smurt springform og bages så ved 175 grader i ca 45-50 min.

Kan pyntes med almindelig glasur eller den med flødeost, som vi plejer at bruge til de klassiske gulerods- og squashkager, men her hos os nydes Monkey bread on the rocks, altså uden glasur. Den er sød og fedtet nok i sig selv.

Nyd lørdagen med det og dem i elsker.
Og måske også et sødt bumlet brød…

    MUMS…den kage må jeg prøve 🙂 jeg er nemlig også vild med kanel i kager.

    Det er jo lidt anderledes og sjov ide med en “taglagt” kage, som jeg får lyst til at bage…snart 😉
