Der er hundredevis af måder at lave Chai på, min kommer her

I en morter kommes:

1 barnehåndfuld kardemommekapsler

2 spsk. nelliker

2 stjerneanis

3 kanelstænger

Hele molevitten gives nogle ordentlige stød, så det knuses groft og aromastofferne vækkes til live i alt det tørre.

Krydderierne kommes i en kasserolle med 1.5 liter vand og 150 g. sukker af en eller anden art, det skal småkoge i 15 minutter og så skal der tilsættes 2 spsk. sort te, Assam eller Keemun, endelig ikke en parfumeret te, så spoleres de herlige dufte og smagen, der allerede er i krydderblandingen.

Mange kommer lidt tørret ingefær eller skiver af frisk i, jeg synes, at smagen deraf hurtigt bliver for dominerende, men sådan er der helt sikkert også nogen, der vil ha’ det med stjerneanis, så man må prøve sig lidt frem…

Når teen er kommet i slukkes der under gryden, og det hele skal nu stå og trække i en halv times tid.

Væsken hældes igennem en sigte, og du har nu den fineste sirup til at lave din egen Chai af.

Kogende mælk og chaisirup, halvt af hver, luk øjnene og drøm dig til varmere og mere eksotiske himmelstrøg…

    Jeg elsker chai. Mange gange, er humør og helbred blevet bedre af denne gudeskønne drik. Nogle gange laver jeg den selv, andre gange snyder jeg, men jeg køber den også færdigbrygget på den lokale café.
    Uhm, jeg fornemmer tydelig duften og varmen fra dit indlæg, og tak for det på en grå hverdag:)

    Jeg elsker også chai te, men synes at der skal passes på med sukkeret. Er man ikke til sukker i sin te, så kan den godt blive for sød. Jeg er begyndt at tilsætte sukker efter smag i den færdige chai i stedet. Jeg kan næsten dufte det, Anne.

    Jeg kan ikke med lethed skaffe god the her af den sorte indiske type, som man typisk bruger til chai. Men næste gang jeg er i Dublin, så …

    Det var så lidt, Dorte…

    Vi har ikke så mange caféer her på bøh-landet, Sifka, så vi må gøre det selv 😉

    Det er ikke dumt at spørge, TIna, det er dumt at lade være, og så få lavet en udrikkelig kop!
    Det er helt rigtigt som du tænker, varm mælk med te-sirup i…

    Det kan let blive for sødt, Mette, men til en enkelt kop så er det godt, og for pigerne er det godt til hver eneste kop, de sukkergrise 🙂

    Du må proviantere i Dublin, Irene, eller bestille på nettet, for god sort te er et must i Chai, synes jeg.
