Æbler af egen avl, plukket af et ungt og lille træ, der denne sensommer er ved at segne under vægten af alle de frugter, der hænger tungt på de spinkle grene.

Syrlige men aromatiske er de, de skønne Bøghs citronæbler, og jeg glæder mig hver dag, når jeg går ned og plukker et til her-og-nu-fortæring.

Nugga står med bedende øjne ved siden af, æbler og pærer frisk fra træ er endnu mere livret end et saftigt ben fra slagteren, og er jeg ikke hurtig nok til at dele det plukkede med hende, ja så ved hun godt hvordan man med blød retriever-mund forsigtigt lirker et enkelt stykke frugt ned fra træet.

Faktisk er det lykkedes hende at tømme et helt træ for Conference pærer, ja altså lige bortset de 2 hun ikke kunne nå og den halve, der hang tilbage fra et mislykket kup…

I dag er det ikke de rå æbler, der skal gnaves, men en sprød smuldreæblekage skal få lov at forsøde vores eftermiddagste, den står i ovnen nu og sender liflige dufte gennem huset, måske bliver det te-tid lidt tidligere end ellers.

Hvis andre skulle ha’ lyst at søndagsbage, så er denne kage lavet i løbet af et kort øjeblik og de fleste ingredienser vil nok være at finde i køkkenskufferne hos mange…

ÆBLECRUMBLE

5 skrællede æbler i både.

2 dl havregryn, i dag brugte vi 5 korns flager men helt almindelige havregryn er fino

0.5 dl. solsikkekerner

0.5 dl. Muscovado eller brun farin

1 tsk friskknust kardemomme eller 2 tsk. stødt fra pose

0.75 dl. smeltet smør

evt. lidt sukker til drys direkte på æblerne, hvis de er meget syrlige

Æblebådene lægges i et smurt ildfast fad og over drysses alle de tørre ingredienser, der er smuldret let sammen med fingrene.

Det smeltede smør fordeles over og kagen bages ved 225 grader i ca 25 min.

Lækker med vanilleis, letpisket fløde eller vanilleduftende creme fraîche…
