D.23. december forsvandt mellem fingrene på os, vi stod ellers meget tidligt op og ramte først dynerne, da det var blevet d.24., men meget var på programmet, og inden vi fik set os om var morgen blevet til dag og dag til nat.

Julen er vel, om nogen tid på året, traditionernes tid, mange ting gøres på næsten samme måde år efter år, og meget af det på de samme dage i løbet af december måned, ikke mindst når vi når de sidste dage op mod den store aften.

Sådan er det hos mange familier, og bestemt også her hos os, gamle traditioner holdes i hævd og nye får også lov at komme til, og en af de allernyeste blev med glæde og hjertevarme klaret i går i vintermørket…

Der blev fyret op i grillen, og gode pølser blev stegt, mændene hyggede sig om ilden med en øl i hånden, og kvinder og børn kvidrede inde om julemad, gaver, frokost, kirkegang og hvad der ellers trængte sig på.

I år brugte vi alrummet til ophold, drivhuset er for lille, for de børn, der engang var små, bliver større og større, og deres teenage-råberi og flagrende arme gør det svært at klemme 12 mand ind på 10 kvm. sammen med overvintrende oliventræer og krukkker med slumrende afrikanske liljer.

Er det mon egentlig ikke grund nok til at få bygget et stort drivhus, et orangeri måske, nabogrill på lillejuleaften, hmmm…

Alle de andre faste indslag på dagen før dagen kunne vi også sætte flueben ved, inden vi lagde hovedet på puden, så nu kan julen bare komme an, vi er klar og vi glæder os.

Faktisk kom der også en lille ny ting på programmet i går, fødselsdagsfrokost hos Hanne og Tommy, det var så fredeligt og hyggeligt, og havde såmænd godt kunne trække ud, hvis det ikke var fordi vi havde manglet de allersidste gaver; vi elsker deres selskab, og for vores skyld måtte den frokost gerne blive en af de ting, hvor vi kunne smile til hinanden og sige:
