Amanda og jeg har bagt hvedeknopper, gode fede hvedeboller med masser af friskmyrdet kardemomme og senere i dag skal de nydes nyristede med smør og marmeladeklat på og så med en kop god te til.

Jeg elsker duften af nybagt brød og især af det med kardemomme i, det dufter helt specielt og rigtigt godt.

Og vi har brugt rigeligt i hvederne i dag…

12 hvedeknopper:

500-550 g. økohvede

3 spsk. rørsukker

1 tsk. salt

100 g. smør

1 æg

25 g. gær

3 dl. lunkent vand

Rigeligt med kardemomme, helst frisk stødt

De tørre ingredienser blandes i en røreskål og smørret findeles deri, massen nulres til den er ensartet og grynet og der ikke længere er store smørklumper i.

Gæres opløses i det lunkne vand, ægget kommes ved og det hele kommes i skålen med melblandingen. Dejen æltes grundigt til den er glat og smidig…

Formes til 12 runde boller, der lægges tæt i en bradepande/ildfast fad og de efterhæves til det dobbelt på et lunt og hyggeligt sted.

Bages ved ca. 225 grader i ca 25 min.

Ved servering flækkes hvedeknopperne og ristes i ovnen ved høj varme…

Sidste år fandt jeg en lille hvedehistorie, den kommer lige med her i år:

Helle K. spørger om, der ikke er forskel på boller og hvedeknopper, og det er der da, lidt i alle tilfælde, der er meget mere fedtstof i hvedeknopperne både mængden af æg og smør er øget i forhold til en almindelig bolleopskrift.

De varme hveder er en tradition, der er kommet til at hænge uløseligt sammen med Store Bededag, på denne dag var der i gammel tid arbejdsforbud, man måtte ikke arbejde, spille, lege eller rejse, man skulle bruge dagen i kirken og faktisk også være fastende fra aftenen før og indtil man var færdig med at være til gudstjeneste.

Selv bagerne holdt fri denne dag, men for at borgerskabet ikke skulle være helt uden brød, så bagte man bjerge af hvedetvebakker, som man så kunne varme i hjemmene på selve bededagen.

Hvorfor spisningen af dem så er rykket til aftenen før, ja det melder historien ikke noget om, men kan man ikke forestille sig, at vi danskere, med vores veludviklede hygge-gen, lige har kunnet øjne chancen for endnu en gang mad og samvær.

Amandas og mine hvedeknopper er færdige nu og af en eller anden grund mangler det ene hjørne!

Meget mystisk – og hvor har jeg fået de fedtede smørfingre…

    Uhm. Lækkert. Jeg har også bagt spelt”hveder” af den grove slags. De er også blevet meget lækre.

    Uh, det var godt, at jeg lige blev opmærksom på min forglemmelse, og jeg har nu en pladefuld stående på køkkenbordet.

    Rigtig god bededagsaften. Vi prøve at bage dem imorgen tror jeg 🙂 I princippet for sent, men de smager jo lige godt.

    Tak da, for en dejlig opskrift…må bage dem i morgen, man kan vel også spise hvedeknopper bededag…det tænker vi i hvert fald at gøre…

    Nøj, de ser gode ud dine hvedeknopper, Anne. Traditionen byder jo, at man spiser dem aftenen før Bededag; men man kan jo akkurat lige så godt spise hveder midt i august, hvis det er dét, man har lyst til. I hvert fald, når man SELV fabrikerer dem. I bagerierne laver vi dem jo kun 1 gang om året – eller det vil sige, i perioden op til Bededag, for i Bilka har vi da bagt dem i 2-3 uger nu. Det er egentlig noget sjovt noget, for stort set alle spiser jo hvederne, hvilket virkelig er ensbetydende med travlhed i ALLE bagerier. Jeg er dog blevet fortalt, at der var en fiffig bagermester i Løkken, der sidste år bagte hveder hver fredag. Turisterne (og måske også de fastboende) stod i lange køer ud af hans butik hver fredag for at få fat i de varme hveder. Godt påhit!!!

    Jeg bliver tit inspireret af dine dejlige sider – både mht håndarbejde og madopskrifter. Nu ville jeg så bage dine hvedeknopper MEN du skriver om i teksten æg…. men der er ikke nogen æg i opskriften… ?? nå jeg ginder en løsning. God bededag!

    hej skønne anne, åh hvor ser det ud til at i har haft nogle dejlige dage, er nu lidt træt af at vi ikke skal til fest sammen i næste uge øv øv øv, mon ikke vi skal ses igen snart ? hils din familie og vi ses knus

    Vi havde sikkert også haft bedre af grove og sunde hveder, Marie-Louise, men vi snuppede dem på “old-school” måden 🙂

    Godt du nåede det, Sifka, for sådan en hjemmebagt hvede er ikke at kimse af…

    Man kan spise dem lige præcis, når det passer ind i programmet, Deborah, bededag eller ej…

    Pia – det der står med kursiv er sakset fra et indlæg sidste år, og har som sådan ikke noget at gøre med opskriften oven over, vi havde i alle tilfælde ikke nogen æg i vores hveder, men det er der helt sikkert andre, der har, man kan både med og uden, for smørmængden er jo rigeligt i sig selv til at give “tunge” boller.

    Hej selv skønne Trine! Ja det er ikke lige så heldigt med næste lørdag, men vi havde jo en anden invitation liggende til samme dag.
