I denne weekend er det 3 år siden, at vi flyttede ind i det lille skæve gamle hus på landet.
3 helt og aldeles vidunderlige år, når jeg nøjes med at kigge på vores lille lune bo og ikke på alt det, som er forgået rundt omkring, sådan med livet altså.
Uden overdrivelse overhovet så kan jeg sige, at jeg hver evigt eneste dag er taknemmelig for, at jeg bor lige netop her. På landet tæt på byen og omgivet af smuk smuk natur og en hel masse fred og ro.
Når jeg drejer ind på den lukkede vej nede fra landevejen, så falder pulsen og smilet breder sig over mit fjæs, hver dag tænker jeg: Hjem. Lige her. Jeg er så heldig heldig heldig.
Man kører en lille kilometers penge fra landevejen op gennem skoven og ned af en slyngende lille vej mod farmen. Ned igennem det sidste sving og så kan man se søen, husene, hestene, haverne og juletræerne. Hjemme.
At komme til at bo her var et lykketræf uden lige, historien er så fin og sjov og vi taler tit om, at det lykketræf faldt på det absolut helt rigtige tidspunkt. Det kan faktisk slet ikke diskuteres.
I dag har vi fejret det med en lille kage. Fejret et dejligt fællesskab uden tvang og forpligtelser, et fællesskab, som alle trives i og med. Sammen hver for sig blev “moderne” her på farmen, før nogen kendte til lockdown og restriktioner, som vi alle kender alt for godt nu. Sammen hver for sig på farmens måde får heldigvis aldrig en negativ klang eller et træt suk, det er tvært imod altid rart at tænke på.
Kagen har jeg fået inspiration til på Spis Bedres instagram side. Jeg er ret autonom, når jeg er i køkkenet, så der er trukket lidt ud af opskriften og tilført lidt andet, intet er skrevet ned og jeg kan sagtens anbefale opskriften helt som den er.
I det hele taget så er roulade altså et lidt for overset bagværk. Sådan en fætter er jo lynhurtigt lavet og kan laves af få ingredienser og med fyld på 100 måder. Mere roulade til folket, siger jeg bare.
Og mange flere år og jubilæer her på farmen på landet til mig, siger jeg faktisk bare endnu mere.

Grå dag og blå dage. Kolde dage og fis-lunkne dage. Regn, slud og sne og alt alt for lidt af det sidste.
Det er godt, at huset er lunt og hult og at jeg også sagtens kan nyde at sidde med mit strikketøj og mine bøger time efter time. For udelivet kalder ikke så meget på mig, når det er gråt og sjasket, jeg gider godt at blive kold men jeg nærmest hader at bevæge mig rundt i fugtigt tøj og dug på brillerne.
I dag er smuk og blå og jeg har skam også været ude. Både ude og nede. Et vinterdyp – ja faktisk to – sammen med gode bademakkere på broen skød min hjemmedag i gang og siden har der været små dagligdags ting at klare og også lidt læsning af den faglige slags at udfordre hjernen med.
Jeg er stadig novice ud i vinterbadningens kunst, var i for første gang dagen før min fødselsdag i februar sidste år og har for alvor fået gang i dypperierne fra sensommeren, men jeg ved, at det er noget, som jeg ikke slipper frivilligt igen.
Blodets brusen i årerne bagefter og tilfredsheden og glæden over at gøre noget, som kræver at jeg kommer ud af røret og afsted. Det lille fine nye fælleskab der på badebroen giver mig smil om munden og sang på hjertet, når jeg kører hjem igen.
2 dage om ugen. 4-5 kvinder alt efter dagsform og så lige så mange dyp, som man synes, at man orker. En kop te og lidt snak og grin, mens teen drikkes og så hjem hver for sig igen. 30 minutter fra jeg kører afsted og til jeg er hjemme igen, men de 30 minutter sidder i kroppen resten af dagen på en rigtig dejlige måde. Og det er det mentale velvære, der tæller allermest i denne kolde ligning.
I dag var luften -3 og vandtermometeret stod på et klingede NUL, da vi hev det op efter endt badning. Og det krævede faktisk lige lidt mere end bare et enkelt slag med spaden, før vi fik hul på isen, men i kom vi og det endda uden de store hvin. Måske fordi vi nærmest var lidt lammede af kulde.
Jeg vil helst gå ud fra bredden og kaste mig frem og svømme ud til broen. Men det går altså ikke lige nu. Det ville se dumt ud, hvis jeg lå der med bar krop oven på isen og forsøgte at padle, så i disse dage er det på stigen. Ned, trække vejret nogle gange, op igen. Og så ned igen, når man lige har ventet lidt på tur.
Jeg er ligeglad med de artikel, der siger, at der er mange sundhedsmyter omkring vinterbadning; jeg gør det ikke for at blive sund på den fysiske måde, jeg gør det ene og alene fordi jeg er vild med følelsen i kroppen, mens jeg er i vandet og også når jeg igen har fået mit varme tøj på. Det sætter sig direkte i humøret og det tåler bestemt gerne et lille tilskud på især de grå og våde dage.
Jeg er ikke saunatypen, jeg vil hellere hjem til brændeovnen og lidt stilletid efter et dyp. Og der er jo helt frit valg på den hylde, så jeg suser bare hjem og nyder, at der er buldrende ild i ovnen og rigeligt af varme drikke. Og en dag forude med smil om munden og på hjertet.
En dag til rugbrødsbagning og opstart af en Zipper til Laura, nu er jeg nemlig endelig i mål med en strikkeprøve on point.
Og så også nogle af de der husmoderlige pligter, som jo også hører livet til. Kedelige eller ej…

I vores julemåned er der egentlig en del traditioner; småkagerne, der bages sammen med gamle dejlige kolleger, de lune safrangule brød på Lucia morgen, maden, måden vi åbner gaver på, julekortene, julekalenderkigning og småudflugterne til julemarkeder rundt omkring.
Nogle år når vi alt det, som vi plejer og gerne vil, andre år er der noget, som spænder ben og så når vi knap så meget, men visse ting skal bare til før det rigtigt er jul for os. Lige præcis sådan som det også er i de fleste andre familier.
Èn ting er der overhovedet ingen tradition omkring og det er måden vi pynter på, når december starter. Det er en tradition, at vi pynter den 1.søndag i advent, eller i alle tilfælde begynder på det, men det er også den absolut eneste tradition, der er for det. Intet andet er fast eller sikkert…
Forleden talte jeg med min veninde Judith om noget af det julepynt, som jeg har arvet hjemmefra min farmor, og mens jeg fortalte om, hvordan der altid stod en grøn høj glasvase med fyrgrene og røde filthjerter på telefonbordet hjemme hos min farmor og farfar og hvordan min fars små engle af træ og pap altid stod samme sted på reolen i samme hus, så kunne jeg pludselig mærke, hvor dejligt og rart det var at kunne genkalde mig de billeder og især stemninger fra det julepyntede hus i Kolding.
Jeg spurgte Amanda, om hun havde nogle særlige minder om vores julepynt, om nogle bestemte ting på bestemte steder, jeg kendte i virkeligheden godt svaret på forhånd. Det var: “Nej ikke rigtigt!”
Og det er ikke fordi, at Amanda husker specielt dårligt eller ikke har været opmærksom på julepynten, men der er da fordi, at hendes mor hvert eneste år har lavet en “ny” jul! Jeg har altid hygget mig så meget med at finde på nyt, nye opstillinger, nye makkerpar, nye farver, gak og løjer. Og det har været fint og flot og sjovt at kigge på, det tør jeg faktisk godt selv at sige. Pyntningstraditionen har været, at der ingen tradition har været på nogen som helst måde…
Men forleden kunne jeg pludselig bare mærke, at den glæde og rare følelse jeg fik ved at tænke på min farmors bløde filthjerter på fyr, den glæde kunne jeg godt ha’ lyst til at plante i andre små hjerter.
Og med flytningen til en meget mindre bolig end tidligere, ja der har de kreative juleudfoldelser også fået lidt trangere kår, her er virkelig ikke plads til de store armbevægelser og hvis jeg skal kunne trække vejret igennem december, så skal der være mere samling på det og mere strømligning.
Lidt men godt og så noget, som kan tages frem igen og igen og måske – men kun måske – få lov til at stå det samme sted. Og egentlig er det ikke så svært for mig at vælge, hvad det så skal være. For det skal selvfølgelig være de ting, som er lidt tidsløse, klassiske juleting, blide farver, naturmaterialer og smukke former. Lidt træ, lidt glas, lidt dansk, lidt svensk, lige gammelt og lidt af nyere dato.
Og når julen pakkes væk om nogle uger, så vil jeg sortere alle kasserne og kun beholde det, som jeg tænker er langtidsholdbart for mig. Resten bliver solgt. For der er mange gode ting i de kasser, rigtigt mange. Både fordi at jeg har haft meget større huse at pynte og også fordi, at der år efter år er blevet tilført nye skønne ting til samlingerne.
Julen bliver nok aldrig bare rød og granstikkende her, men fremover bliver den mere genkendelig og dermed forhåbentlig også noget, der kan skabe en slags tradition at tænke tilbage på. Og hvem ved – måske kan jeg stadig nå at give mine piger en oplevelse af, at hjemme hos mor stod og hang de tre klirrende englespil altid lige der til højre på den lange reol.
